The Glorious Shrine
to
Root Beer
AND ALL THE STEWART'S FOUNTAIN CLASSICS

Stewart's - the ultimate root beer :) Yes, folks, it's true. Only I would be crazy enough to create a shrine to everyone's favorite beverage, root beer. But, well, I'm here. :) It all started way back in the tenth grade (or was it ninth?). . .
Does anyone really care why I love root beer? Oh well, you can skip this part if you don't.
Basically I had a crush on one of my close (guy) friends. And he was obsessed. We're talking holding-a-funeral-for-an-empty-bottle obsessed. Now somewhere in my youth I'd tried root beer (probably diet) and decided it was "yucky." But he was so into it that I decided I had to give it another chance.
So I decided to give it a try. I started with Mug, I believe. It was okay. . . I could drink it and survive. But I decided I might want another brand. I tried A&W. If you have never had more than a couple brands of root beer you'd be amazed at how different they can be. Basically, I was hooked. This obsession lasted until my friend's seventeenth birthday party when I (of course) bought him a bottle of A&W (plus a key chain, but that's beside the point). Turned out, not only did he have plenty of root beer himself (duh), he had *insert dramatic pause here* Stewart's Root Beer.
If you've never tried it, try it. What else can I say. It's milder and sweeter than most . . . much as I hate to admit it the "Mug" obsessed might not care for it. But I do *evil grin*.
Now that my friend (I refuse to say anything beyond that on this page; we're friends now) had me hooked on Stewart's (his middle name, no joke) I decided to explore the other possibilities of the Stewart's Fountain Classics line. Root beer was easiest to find, though right up next to it was the Country Orange-'n'-Cream. Think melted Creamsicle (though just light enough to drink). Then I discovered Old Fashioned Cherries-'n'-Cream. This one was so rich and creamy it had to be called a dessert. (Not that a sweet-tooth like me minded that.) I believe Key Lime (still my favorite, except possibly for root beer) was next. If you like lime at all, you'll LOVE this stuff. "Nectar of the Gods," I'm tellin' ya. Finally I tried the cream soda. (Though it's actually one of their best known products - all the sodas have a "creamy" taste to them.) If you like cream soda, you love Stewart's Cream Ale. Even thebevnet.com said about this stuff "This is cream soda at its best. Stewart's Cream ale is the creamiest and smoothest cream soda that we have ever tasted. Quite a fine beverage it is. We recommend that everyone try this beverage. You will be hooked on cream soda forever." They aren't kidding.
Now you know how I got hooked. Aren't you special! :)

Soon to grow . . . my mini-reviews :) (all IMHO, of course!)

A&W sweet, fairly creamy but still full of flavor - best "common" brand 9 (of 10)
Mug drinkable, but not too sweet - strong "bite" 6
Stewart's THE ULTIMATE - though expensive and harder to find - the best "gourmet" brand 10+
IBC also very good, though not necessarily worth the gourmet price 8
